Daily Market Snapshot: US Stock Markets Climb Ahead of Key Inflation Data

US Stock markets shook off recent losses to climb again yesterday as investors looked ahead to key inflation data tomorrow with the Dow leading the charge to gain 1.2% on the day. Treasury yields had a mixed day in choppy markets whilst the dollar pushed higher in line with expectations of a smaller rate cut. 

Oil prices also gained back some lost ground as the market priced in potential supply issues as Tropical Storm Francine hit the Gulf of Mexico. Gold moved back higher again but remains in recent ranges ahead of tomorrow’s key numbers. 

 The event calendar picks up later today with key numbers out in the UK and central bank speakers set to update the market in the US session.
